Welcome to the Challenge Of The Week!
Jim presses his nose to the window to try and see if DJ is coming back, only to mist up the glass with his breath.
'Oof,' Keith mutters behind him, face and hands as close to the fire as he dares, 'I really can't wait for Spring.' Followed by a 'What?' as Jim taps him on the shoulder.
Ignoring his brother's annoyed look, he points at the window. 'Is snow supposed to melt this fast?'
Outside the cabin, the snow is melting so rapidly it creates little streams that find their way to lower ground, here and here already showing soft green grass.
'Not that I know of,' Keith says surprised.
'Maybe it's you.'
'Me?' Keith says surprised.
'Yes,' replies Jim excited. 'The first time you said 'I can't wait for Spring' it stopped snowing. The second time you said it the snow started melting. Try it again!'
'Since when do we believe in fairy tales?'
'Since now! Just try it!'
More to stop Jim from pulling him from the fire and to the window to show the magically fast melting snow Keith sighs: 'Alright. I can't wait fro Spring. Happy now!'
'Yes,' shouts Jim, as the sun breaks through the clouds and flowers burst open in colourful blooms. 'Guess we know how to bring magic to Earth!'
So nature has awoken from her slumber and flowers and animals wake up too. Time to celebrate Spring in a creative way that combines words and an image in a calligram!
Style: calligram
Theme: animals and nature (ducks are the worst enemy to wolves)
Don't know what a calligram is? Here's a definition.
'A piece of text, often a poem, in which words are arranged to make a visual image that reflects the meaning.' (MacMillan Dictionary)
And here's an example.
